Pricing & Packages

Pricing.

How much does DJ Garret cost?
DC Metro wedding packages start at $2,000. The Classic package is $2,000, the Signature (most popular) is $2,400, and the Premium is $2,800. Each tier includes five consecutive hours of DJ and MC service. Destination and out-of-state events are quoted individually based on dates, scope, and travel logistics. See the full breakdown on the packages page.
What's included in each package?
Every package includes me as DJ and MC for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, plus wireless microphones, a professional sound system, choice of white or black equipment theme, and the planning consultations leading up to your event. Signature adds dancefloor lighting and 12 intelligent uplights. Premium adds 125 LED foam sticks and 2 intelligent moving heads.
What's required to lock in my date — deposit and payment terms?
A signed contract and a deposit secure your date. The remaining balance is due before the event. I'll walk you through the exact terms when we have a date and package locked in. Couples typically book six to twelve months in advance, especially during peak season.

Music & Programming

Music.

What kind of music do you play?
Open-format. That means the room dictates the set — hip-hop, house, EDM, top 40, Latin, old-school, and the multicultural specialties: Armenian, Persian, Arabic, Turkish, Indian-Portuguese fusion. The point is to read the floor, not impose a playlist.
Can we give you a do-not-play list and request specific songs?
Yes. Every couple gets a planning meeting where we map the must-plays, the do-not-plays, the first dance, the family songs, and the cultural moments. Real-time guest requests during the reception are managed at my discretion — I'll honor what fits the room and politely set aside what doesn't.

Logistics & MC

Logistics.

Do you handle MC and announcements, or just DJ?
MC work is included in every package. Grand entrances, toasts, first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, hora and special-tradition cues, last call. Bilingual MC work in English and Armenian is included; pronunciations for any other language are confirmed at the planning meetings.
What does the consultation process look like?
Once we lock the date, we have an initial planning call to map out your vision, then a more detailed timeline meeting closer to the event. I coordinate with your planner, photographer, and venue so the run-of-show is tight on the day. The goal: you don't think about the music or the timeline once the day starts.

Equipment & Backup

Equipment.

What's your backup plan if equipment fails?
Every event runs with redundant gear: backup mixer, backup laptop with mirrored music library, spare wireless mic, and spare cabling. For multi-room or large-format events, a second sound zone is configured in advance so a single point of failure can never bring down the night.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance for our venue?
Yes. I carry general liability insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance naming your venue as additional insured. Most DC, Maryland, and Virginia venues require this — just let me know who the COI needs to be addressed to and I'll send it ahead of the event.

Travel & Booking

Travel & booking.

Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes. Past events have spanned the United States, Europe (including Italy), and Mexico. Destination events are quoted individually based on dates, scope, equipment requirements, and travel logistics. Send the details and I'll come back with a clean number.
How far in advance should I book?
Six to twelve months out is recommended, especially in peak wedding season (April through October in the DMV). Saturdays in May, June, September, and October book first. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway — last-minute openings happen.
What makes DJ Garret different from other DJs in the DMV?
Two decades behind the decks, starting with residencies at DC nightclubs Decades, POV at the W Hotel, Rosebar, Ultrabar, Eden, and Cities. The most requested Armenian DJ on the East Coast, with cultural fluency in Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and multicultural fusion programming. Open-format mixing built on actual club experience, plus the polish a wedding requires. The dance floor stays full because reading the room is the job — and I've been doing it since before the algorithm decided who was good.
